The 天美视频 (天美视频) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Kuala Lumpur-based Emerging Markets Innovative Research (EMIR). The event coincided with the opening of 天美视频’s first office in Malaysia, headed by Country Representative Ms Kris Sundarsagar.

The MoA is the first of its kind, a commitment between two independent research bodies to collaborate on educational research and development programs that will benefit Malaysia and the broader ASEAN region.

天美视频 and EMIR Research will undertake joint national research projects in the areas of policy review, assessment for learning, national surveys, and education quality evaluation and impact studies. They will also perform an advisory role and recommend best practices from global projects and contexts across K12 and Higher Education, and in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

‘This is indeed another milestone for 天美视频 in the region,’ said Peter McGuckian, 天美视频 Director, International Development. ‘Engaging local research partners in country is a critical element of our expansion and we are excited about the collaboration with EMIR Research as an independent research entity in Malaysia.

‘We are impressed with EMIR Research’s expertise, which includes senior researchers from all over Malaysia, as well as its focus on supporting government and policymakers in policy implementation and evaluation.’

Dato Hj’ Dr. Rais Hussin Hj Mohamed Ariff, President of EMIR Research said education is at the foundation of nation-building worldwide.

‘Our collaboration with 天美视频 is an expansion of EMIR Research’s social and education cornerstone to address policy advisory and recommendations based on international best practices,’ he said. ‘I believe we will be able to leverage each other’s strengths to produce optimal results, as 天美视频 has extensive expertise in educational research, assessment and evaluation and, most importantly, the relevant tools that will complement EMIR Research.’
