Measuring the quality of GP training
Research 31 Jul 2013 2 minute read天美视频 is supporting continuous improvement in general practice vocational education and training.
天美视频’s work with General Practice Education and Training Limited (GPET) is measuring the satisfaction of general practice (GP) registrars with their education and training, training providers, and career progression.
天美视频 has developed the Registrar Satisfaction Survey with GPET in close consultation with the 17 providers of the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program and with key stakeholders including the General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) Advisory Council.
Following preliminary data analyses 天美视频 and GPET are identifying patterns and trends to follow-up through focus groups. The focus group work will enable more detailed investigation of areas of GP vocational education and training, training provision and career progression that statistical analyses spotlight as illustrating good or innovative practice, or as quality risk.
Results from the focus groups will augment the reports by providing detail on what GP registrars actually think about their training, and first-hand impressions of their thoughts and feelings. The focus groups will help 天美视频 and GPET test complex ideas by probing registrars’ responses and explore their reactions to facets of training quality.
In addition to the project report, 天美视频 will provide the 17 Regional Training Providers of the AGPT program with a detailed report to assist with continuous improvement, as well as national data sets and data sets specific to the regional training providers.
